Emirate Airlines History
Emirates Airlines was founded in October 1985, when its first two flights flew out from its base in Dubai. Today, that number has increased from two to 1,500 flights each week, carrying 44.5 million passengers from Dubai to over 140 destinations in more than 80 countries on six continents. Its fleet of 220 aircraft is one of the youngest fleets in the sky and is continuing to grow. Emirates Airlines is wholly owned by the Government of Dubai and has a reputation for very high standards. It is this commitment to quality that has seen the airline receive over 400 awards for excellence worldwide.
Emirates Airlines Airports and Destinations
Emirates is among the top ten largest carriers in the world and flies almost everywhere. The airline's main hub is Dubai International Airport from where they operate regular flights to major cities in Europe, Asia and the Pacific region, Africa, the Middle East and North and South America. They also run four of the world's longest non-stop flights, to Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Emirates Airlines Services
Emirates Airlines is a world class airline used by holiday-makers and business travellers alike. With flights to single destinations and connections, as well as codeshares with other reputable airlines, Emirates is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world. Passengers can expect a high level of service on an Emirates flight, with everything one would expect from a long-haul carrier, including wi-fi, in-flight entertainment system, outstanding food and complementary drinks. There are lounges worldwide and a chauffeur service for First and Business Class passengers.
Emirates Airlines Ticket Types
Emirates offers First, Business and Economy Class tickets and has offers on certain routes on the website. There are two frequent flyer programmes: Emirates Skywards, enabling you to swap miles for upgrades, or offers on a variety of partners; and Business Rewards, which enables SMEs, clubs and charities to collect miles and exchange them for flights and upgrades. Emirates has one of the largest baggage allowances at 30kg for free for Economy ticket holders and passengers can check themselves in online prior to the flight.
