How to Get to Siena by Plane

Siena is served by Ampugnano Airport. This airport is located about 9 kilometres from the city centre. However, this airport is only used by small private jets. This means that there are no direct commercial flights to Siena. Passengers can only board flights to other nearby airports such as Rome, Florence and Pisa. Of the three airports, Florence Peretola Airport is the nearest. Flying time from London to Florence is approximately 2 hours. Airlines with flights from Heathrow Airport to Florence include British Airways, American Airlines, Air France, CityJet, Ryanair, easyJet and Wizz air. From Peretola Airport, passengers can either take a bus or taxi to the city. Buses run every 30 minutes from directly outside the terminal. The journey takes about 15-30 minutes. From the city, passengers can take a direct bus to Siena or connection bus. The direct bus takes about 1.5 hours while connection bus takes about 2 hours. Passengers can also board a train to Siena. The journey takes about 2 hours.
