This small Italian city provides a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities the country is famous for. Sitting right on the coast, the ample beach space is great for a stroll or a paddle, and there are numerous bars and restaurants a short walk from the seafront. Visit in aperitivo hour, where you can enjoy a range of stuzzichini - bar snacks - that come free with every drink purchased. Pescara's main street also boasts a range of boutique clothes and jewellery stores for the avid shopper. Take a walk across the Ponte del Mare at night for the chance to admire its striking architecture, and catch a glimpse of great views across the city. If you look far enough into the distance, you can even spot the silhouette of the mountain ranges.
