The popular holiday resort of Fethiye is less than 30 miles from Dalaman Airport, and most passengers opt to travel to their resort by cab or hotel shuttle bus. There are public transport options available, however. These include the Havas Airport bus which goes to Marmaris or Fethiye, and minibuses which depart from Dalaman bus station (Otogar) on a regular basis for local towns and resorts such as Ortaca, Dalyan,Köyceğiz, Marmaris, Göcek and Fethiye. Visitors to these south-western holiday resorts should take time to explore the entire coastline in full. The Turquoise Coast runs all the way to Patara and features a variety of ancient Roman monuments and abandoned towns. One way to enjoy the best of this beautiful coastline is to hire a boat for a day or longer, and take time to discover the glorious islands in the bay close to Fethiye.
