Flybe is the only airline that offers direct flights from Birmingham to Glasgow. The average time of a direct flight is one hour and fifteen minutes. Other airlines, including Air France and Brussels Airlines offer this service but include changes and stop overs, and some of the stop overs last up to 22 hours. The earliest flight departs from Birmingham at 6.10am and the last leaves at 8.30pm. There are 37 flights a week and prices are higher from April to September.
Birmingham Airport is 10.2km southeast of central Birmingham. Train services from Birmingham New Street run to Birmingham International station every 5-20 minutes, and from there a free AirRail Link connects you to the airport. The AirRail Link runs between 5.00am and 2.00am. Bus service 97A runs to the airport 24 hours a day from the city centre, and bus No.900 has services throughout the day. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes by bus. National Express coaches 777 and 422 run to the airport from Birmingham Coach Station.
Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland. In Victorian England the city was important due to the transatlantic trade it was conducting and the shipbuilding there on the River Clyde. It's main claim to fame now is the rivalry between the city's two football teams - Celtic and Rangers. Travellers will arrive at Glasgow Airport, 11km west of the city centre. The Glasgow Shuttle bus 500 runs every ten minutes into central Glasgow 24 hours a day. The 77 Hospital Connect runs through the city to the hospital. There is no train station at the airport, but the nearest station is Paisley Gilmour Street. The McGill’s 757 bus runs from the airport to this station. Taxis are available outside the terminal.
