Major Bus Stations in Italy
Bus transport is available between most major cities in Italy, as well as a number of regional areas. These are sometimes more far reaching than train services, which make them an important part of the country's transport infrastructure. Large transport hubs in Italy include Roma Termini in Rome, Piazzalle Roma in Venice, and Autostazione Milano in Milan.
Roma Termini
Roma Termini itself is a train station, but the square directly in front of it, Piazza dei Cinquecento, is a busy bus station, making it the most important interchange in the city. The local bus routes, as well as those for trams, are operated by ATAC. The Rome Ciampino airport transfer bus, operated by Terravision, terminates here. Intercity routes are available via IBus and Eurolines, who also provide international service.
Piazzalle Roma
The main bus station in Venice is located close to the main train station. Airport transfer bus services are available here, operated by ATVO, as well as national and international services.
Autostazione Milano
This large bus station offers links to Messina, Cosenza, Bari, Perugia, Naples, Siena, Rome (via Siena), Turin and other larger Italian cities. It can be found next to the Lampugnano underground terminal. A small snack bar and kiosk can be found at this station.
