Zermatt Facilities
Zermatt is in possession of ski lifts which travel up to Klein Matterhorn for a panoramic view of the Matterhorn at an elevation of 3883 m as well as superb restaurants adjacent to pistes. These, in addition to the high-quality skiing classes on offer, make this a great destination. Accommodation is provided in cabins, chalets and hotels in the area. A rental shop can be found on-site.
How to Get to Zermatt
Zermatt is located in southern Switzerland. The closest airport is Zurich. Cars must be left outside the city.
Buses to Zermatt
As the city is car-free, buses park at Täsch and visitors are taken to the resort on shuttle trains.
Driving to Zermatt
Zermatt is a car-free zone, so car transport is only allowed as far as Täsch which is located 5 km away. From here the road is closed but regular shuttle trains transport visitors to the resort town. Safe parking is provided at Täsch.
General info about how to drive to the ski resort
Drive to Täsch along the mountain pass exit in Visp from the European route E62. From there you will be required to take a shuttle train to Zermatt.
Ski Season and Passes
Ski season is all year round with variations in schedules depending on season. Two special passes are available, namely an ""Unlimited"" ticket with overnight stays and the ""Ski Active' ticket available for a certain period each year. Lift tickets provide access to various slopes.
