Deutsche Bahn is the main service provider for trains from Frankfurt to Amsterdam. On weekdays, trains depart every 30-90 minutes from around 5:00 a.m. through to 6:30 p.m. and the last train of the day leaves just before 11:30 p.m. On weekends there are more trains during the day, however on Saturdays the last train leaves Frankfurt at around 8:00 p.m. There are four or five direct trains per day, which take around four hours to get to Amsterdam. Journeys with one or two changes take between five and six hours.
Taking the Train from Frankfurt
The main station trains leave from is Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof. The station is just a few minutes drive from the city centre. An extensive public transport network including trams, buses, underground and urban trains makes it quick and easy to get around Frankfurt. Journeys should take a maximum of 30 minutes from the city outskirts and just a few minutes from central locations. Public transport runs throughout the night.
