Amsterdam to Berlin train with Deutsche Bahn (IC,ICE,RB,RE)

Everything had already been well thought out during the planning stage, so I could look forward to the journey. The train arrived at the station on time, which saved me a lot of stress. The interior of the train was modern and well maintained, which made the journey much more comfortable. I particularly liked the quiet atmosphere and the pleasant lighting, which created a relaxed mood. The seats were comfortable and offered enough space for me to enjoy the journey, even on longer journeys. During the journey, I was able to watch the beautiful scenery through the large windows, which made the time fly by. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always responded to questions in a friendly manner. The technical functions, such as the working doors and the clean toilets, were also very satisfactory. There were no delays or disruptions, which speaks for a well-organised journey. I really appreciated the environmentally friendly alternative to travelling by car or plane, as I was able to read, work or simply relax during the journey. Overall, the train journey was a positive experience that I would do again at any time.

I travelled by train from Amsterdam Centraal to Berlin Hbf on 4 June 2024. The reason for the journey was a private visit to Berlin. My journey started in the early afternoon, at 15:59 to be precise, and ended in Berlin at 21:51 in the evening. Overall, the journey was pleasant, especially due to the seat reservation in 1st class, which offers a much higher level of comfort than 2nd class. However, the train was quite full, which was particularly noticeable when boarding and in the aisles. The cleanliness of the train was mostly okay, and the toilets were also reasonably well maintained. On a positive note, the train was equipped with power sockets, which I used to charge my devices. Unfortunately, wifi was either not available or very unstable, which made it difficult to use. There was an on-board restaurant, but I didn't use it on this journey, so I can't give a rating for it. The train arrived in Berlin on time, which was a positive surprise considering the frequent delays on long-distance trains. The service on board was polite and helpful, but also somewhat reserved - there were hardly any announcements or active staff in the carriage. The ticket price was €123.80 for two people in 1st class, which I think is fair for this route and the comfort on offer. Overall, the price-performance ratio was good, especially compared to other means of transport and considering the journey time and comfort. Overall, I was satisfied with the journey. The favourable price and the direct connection clearly speak in favour of the train journey. The only thing that was less good was the high capacity utilisation of the IC, which was somewhat unexpected in 1st class.

Since me and a friend went to Amsterdam for the weekend to take some time off, we bought the return breit's with it. Buying the tickets was quite easy & the price wasn't really overpriced either. The train arrived at the station on time. The journey was quite pleasant and wifi gave up a bit, but the sockets were functional. Volume was very quiet and you could actually take a nap. The hygiene was also much better than the other DB trains. I was pleasantly surprised as everything ran as you would expect. Highly recommended!

I took the ICE from Amsterdam C. to Berlin Central Station. The journey was very good! The price was absolutely reasonable and the whole ICE was very clean! The wifi worked well. The staff was also very friendly. Unfortunately, it was a bit too noisy on the train.

A few days ago I took the ICE from Amsterdam to Berlin... The train ride itself was totally comfortable. The journey lasted just over 4 hours and we were not delayed. Wifi was fine, the seats were comfortable... The toilets could be a lot cleaner though.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any equipment on this train journey, because there was only one socket at my seat and free wifi wasn't available either. But the seats were very comfortable and the volume was at room volume, which is quite normal. I was also pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the toilets were perfectly clean and the train looked so good. But the train was much too late, about 20 minutes, and I couldn't make my connection. But there's nothing bad to say about the price-performance ratio, it's good to travel with.

The interior of the train on this return journey impressed once again. Modern extras such as improved wifi were also available again. The journey time was reasonable and the train was not delayed. However, a recurring point of criticism was the price-performance ratio. The ticket prices still seem far too high. The service on board was also friendly again. All in all, the return journey from Amsterdam to Berlin was similar to the outward journey. I would therefore recommend the train journey again.

Departure on 17/02/2023 on time at 17:10 in Amsterdam Central (ICE 241, track 10a) - change in Hanover from late arrival 21:24 (track 9) to departure 21:31 (ICE 645, track 9) - arrival Berlin HBH/Ostbahnhof 23:23 I had a seat carriage all to myself and the silence coupled with the soft comfort seats made me doze off for a moment. The toilets were clean and the conductor was super nice. All in all top!
