IconBare prospect
The train journey with the regional express 26106 from Zwickau to Leipzig was not a special travel experience overall. The punctuality and basic cleanliness of the train were positive, but the facilities could be improved. If you are looking for an easy and straightforward way to travel between these two cities, this regional express is an option, but for a comfortable and visually appealing journey you might consider an alternative.

Disadvantages
IconNot clean
IconLong travel time
I travelled second class on the regional express 26106 from Zwickau to Leipzig. It was a very tiring journey, because it took 1.5 hours and the train was packed. In addition, the train was not very clean. The windows in particular were filthy. On the positive side, the train was not delayed. It also appeared to be technically up-to-date. Seat reservations were not possible.
Advantages
IconGood changeover
IconCatering option
IconUsual equipment and cleanliness
Disadvantages
IconVery high utilisation of the rail replacement service
On the journey, there was a rail replacement service with buses between Werdau and Altenburg. That's why I had to change trains twice. Thanks to the good timetable, I made all my connections and the construction work did not affect my journey time too much. All trains were fully equipped and offered full comfort and service. The cleanliness on both trains was good and the toilets were clean. The thing that I found very good was that both trains offered catering facilities. What was a bit bad was the bus ride between Werdau and Altenburg. As the bus was quite small, it had been very full and many had to wait for the next bus. This could have been planned better.
Advantages
IconGood food in the Boardbistro
Disadvantages
IconWifi was very slow
The train ride from Zwickau to Leipzig was quite comfortable overall. The seats were comfortable and offered enough space for the passengers. There was also enough luggage storage to safely stow the item. The air conditioning move was pleasant and said for a comfortable temperature during the journey proceeded relaxed. Overall, the comfort was price performance, so bold from Zwickau to Leipzig for reasonable. The fare was in reasonable proportion to the service provided. Train connection between the two cities was reliable and on time, which justified the price. Cleanliness on the train, on the track. Zwickau. Leipzig was good. The department things were clean and tidy. It was cleaned regularly.
Advantages

Disadvantages
IconOvercrowded train
IconLong journey time
The regional express to Leipzig was very full that day and there were no seats. Standing was also uncomfortable to a certain extent. What was good was that the train was on time. To my recollection, the train was not particularly clean. On the other hand, the ticket price was low. On the regional express, you rarely meet staff!

IconJourney time
I travelled from Zwickau to Leipzig with the regional express 26106. It was a morning journey and the train was relatively full. Unfortunately, it was not possible to reserve a seat, so I had to stand for the entire 1.5-hour journey. In my opinion, the train was relatively clean and well-maintained for its capacity. It was also running without delay for the entire journey. Next time I'd rather take an IC or ICE.

Disadvantages
IconDirty
I travelled from Zwickau to Leipzig on RegionalExpress 26106. The journey did not go quite so quickly, but rather slowly. However, it left and arrived in Zwickau on time. The train was exceptionally full that day. In addition, the floor was sticky and the train was very dirty overall. There is usually no wifi on these trains. The same applies to the on-board bistro. However, there were power sockets.

There was no wifi on the train.

The journey from Zwickau to Leipzig was on regional express 26106. There is no wifi on this type of train. The journey took place in the morning and the train was quite full. There were no seats. The train was a bit dirty and not really hygienic. On the positive side, the train left and arrived on time. The journey took about 1.5 hours, but it felt longer.
Advantages
IconHigh seating comfort
IconFast internet
IconPrice all right
Disadvantages
IconSockets on the ceiling
IconHolds everywhere
The Zwickau - Leipzig route with the S5X is a beautiful route, although the train really does stop at what feels like every farm. The journey therefore drags on a little. But the train is equipped with everything you need, including wifi and power sockets. Unfortunately, the sockets are placed completely strangely on the ceiling, which is problematic with short cables. The seat was really good for a commuter train and overall the train was clean. The train staff were also friendly and had a sense of humour. The train left on time and also arrived on time. It was also not full, so there were enough seats for everyone.
