Trains from Derby to Liverpool: Journey Details

The train from Derby to Liverpool takes around two to two and a half hours, with one or two changes on route, as there is no direct train between Derby and Liverpool. During weekdays and on Saturdays, the first train leaves Derby shortly after 6:00 a.m., and on Sundays, this changes to a few hours later. There are between one and three trains per hour on weekdays and on Saturdays and between one and two per hour on Sundays. For journeys with one change only, this is made at Crewe or Chesterfield. Journeys with two changes include changes at Tamworth and Stafford. Services are operated by CrossCountry, London Midland, Virgin Trains and East Midland Trains, with all services going into Liverpool Lime Street.

Derby station is near the city centre, not far from the River Derwent and the London Road Community Hospital.
