This journey to Prague had been very relaxing as we didn't have to change trains. The train had been very modern and had comfortable seats and the air climate in the train was perfect. There were also power sockets and fast internet. There was also an on-board bistro at the end of the train where the staff seemed very helpful and friendly. The train was normally full and the volume was pleasant. The ticket was also very reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the train arrived 25 minutes late due to a border check in Prague. I can still recommend the journey.

In December last year, we were on our way to Prague to spend a weekend there and travelled on the EC 459 of DB and CD. The train was quite full (probably due to the day of the week and the time - 7.08am). However, it was still a pleasant journey due to the separate compartments and the good service. Toilets and compartments were clean and it was also possible to charge a mobile phone. There was a restaurant and the train was on time. I was very satisfied with the price-performance ratio (Super-Sparpreis Young for €18.99 per person). All in all, a pleasant journey.

I travelled to Prague because I wanted to see the Christmas market in Prague in December and how Prague is decorated at Christmas time. I travelled by train in the morning. It was a direct connection. The train and the toilets were clean. There is a powder soap for washing your hands that foams extremely well. The train was on time and I used the wifi during the journey. It worked well. The only time reception was lost for a short time was just after the country border and I had to reconnect. There was a restaurant on the train. But I didn't make use of it.

I wanted to see Prague, so I travelled there by train. The best thing was that the internet wasn't so bad and there were good seats with tables, I left in the morning and returned in the evening and it was only 3 minutes late for the Deutsche Bahn. The tickets were also relatively cheap, but the toilets were not as good as on any other train.

The international train journey from Dresden to Prague on the EC was a really good experience. For an extremely good price, you can buy this ticket and look forward to a comfortable journey on the IC, with friendly Czech staff who speak good English. The experience was very different to travelling on the Deutsche Bahn network, especially. The different train model was a change, but I was really pleasantly surprised.

Disadvantages
IconAge of the train
The train journey on the EC from Dresden to Prague was an extremely positive experience. Even though the train was run by Czech staff, which was quite old, the journey was extremely pleasant in a cabin with just my five fellow travellers. The train line between Dresden and Prague runs right through the middle of Saxon Switzerland, which made for a beautiful backdrop during the journey, with the incredible mountain slopes and ancient looking ruins that could be seen time and time again. Even though the train was extremely old, as mentioned above, it was still very comfortable. The cabins you sat in could be locked so you had no contact with other passengers and the Czech conductors, who spoke solid English, were also extremely friendly and helpful. The value for money was also great, and a very reasonable price was charged for this long journey to another European country.
Advantages
IconHigh travelling comfort
IconArrival/departure in the city centre
Disadvantages
IconWifi not working
I travelled from Dresden to Prague on the EC177. I booked the ticket at quite short notice and still managed to get a super saver Europe fare via Deutsche Bahn. Otherwise it is often cheaper to book through the Czech railway. Even without a seat reservation, I easily found a free seat on board. The cleanliness of the toilet was fine and the dining car looked smart, even if I have heard that the quality of the food falls well short of its fine appearance. The seats are sufficiently comfortable. Unfortunately, the wifi didn't work for me, which may be due to the poor network coverage in the border area. A power socket was available. Unfortunately, the train journey ended with a slight delay in Prague. My patience was put to the test a little until I arrived, as the train travelled to many small stations in the Czech Republic before arriving in Prague and the train crawled through the countryside quite slowly. All in all, however, a great service for the price!
