If you want to travel to Carnoustie by plane, the nearest airport is Edinburgh International, which is around 70 kilometres away. Located just to the west of Edinburgh city centre, the airport is well connected to Carnoustie by rail and road links, and it should not take more than an hour and half to transfer from your flight. Airlines servicing Edinburgh include Easyjet, Vueling, Ryanair and British Airways.
Trains to Carnoustie
Catching a train could be the best way to travel to Carnoustie. The town's station is centrally located near the seafront and the major hotels, so even if you are weighed down with golf clubs, it should be easy to reach your accommodation. Trains to Carnoustie are provided by Scotrail, who run services from Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen. If you are travelling from Edinburgh or London, you will need to change at Dundee.
Buses to Carnoustie
If you want to travel to Carnoustie by bus, you may need to change but there are plenty of options. The best way to reach the town is by catching a Stagecoach, Megabus or National Express service to Dundee and then catching the 73 bus to Carnoustie. The journey from Dundee to Carnoustie takes around half an hour. Alternatively, if you are travelling with a golf holiday company, shuttle buses may be provided from Edinburgh Airport.
