Sylt Shuttle Plus was a unique passenger train service operated by Deutsche Bahn (DB) that connected Niebüll and Westerland on the island of Sylt, Germany. Unlike the primary Sylt Shuttle, which transports vehicles, the \Plus\" service was designed for passengers without cars. It involved coupling a Class 628 diesel multiple unit to the rear of the car shuttle train. Introduced in 2015, the Sylt Shuttle Plus gained notoriety for its often-empty carriages and longer travel times compared to regional trains, leading to its nickname \"ghost train.\" The service was discontinued in December 2024."
