Vaasanlaivat
About
Wasaline, formerly known as Vaasanlaivat, is a Finnish ferry company operating the daily route between Vaasa, Finland, and Umeå, Sweden, across the Gulf of Bothnia. Established in 2012, Wasaline offers a convenient shortcut between the two cities, significantly reducing travel time compared to road alternatives. The company operates the Aurora Botnia, a hybrid ferry recognized as the world's most environmentally friendly RoPax vessel, utilizing dual-fuel engines capable of running on liquefied natural gas and biogas, along with a battery system. In November 2025, Stena Line acquired Wasaline, aiming to enhance operations on this northernmost shipping route.
