Cape May-Lewes Ferry
About
The Cape May–Lewes Ferry, operated by the Delaware River and Bay Authority, has been connecting Cape May, New Jersey, and Lewes, Delaware, since 1964. This year-round service covers a 17-mile stretch of the Delaware Bay in approximately 85 minutes, accommodating up to 100 vehicles and 800 passengers per vessel. The ferry offers modern amenities, including air-conditioned lounges, Wi-Fi, and dining options. In 2024, the service celebrated its 60th anniversary and is planning to introduce a new hybrid ferry by mid-2027 to enhance sustainability.
