Still, whether it\u2019s due to a physical, visual, hearing or mental disability, these travellers need special services to help them enjoy the pastime as much as the rest of us.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve prepared a comprehensive guide to help you on your next journey and some inspiration for your next adventure, all access!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a quick (non-exhaustive) checklist of the basics to tick off when planning your next trip:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Finding the most accessible travel destination\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All your choices should be synonymous with worthiness! So don\u2019t forget to check:&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>General accessibility of the city: the topography of your destination can give useful hints: hilltop cities or villages will have more slopes where stairs might be the only way to get from one spot to another.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Public transportation: If you plan on using public transportation to get around, check the distances you will have to travel. While the assistance is a little more advanced on flights, travelling by train means paying less, especially in France and Italy. Bus and ferry companies also offer assistance for easier boarding, but the availability depends on the company.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the main advantages of flights and trains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Flight advantages:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Assistance at check-in and onboarding. Most airlines offer expedited access, baggage and mobility equipment storage.<\/li><li>NOTE: Arrangements should be made at least 48 hours before departure to guarantee a special seat on board.<\/li><li>Wheelchair-accessible toilets on board<\/li><li>Guide dogs are allowed on most aircraft free of charge<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Train advantages:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Assistance at the station for baggage and boarding. Assistance when reserving a special seat.
