There are a number of ways to get trains from Southampton to London, the quickest is to travel via Reading to Paddington with First Great Western. There is also a direct route into the capital offered by the Southern franchise. The direct service from Southampton to London Waterloo which will take on average 1 hour and 20 minutes, the first train departs just before 5am and continue several times an hour until about 11pm.
Southampton: The central station at Southampton is conveniently situated on the Western outskirts of the town centre, with good transport links to the University and all points of cultural and historic interest.
London: Paddington offers a further connection service to Heathrow Airport as well as good London Underground links including the Bakerloo and Hammersmith & City lines. If arriving into Waterloo, travellers can change to the Jubilee line. Both stations also have good bus connections including night buses.
