Trains to Seville

Andalucia's largest city, Seville is more than a beautiful city that's crammed with attractions. It's also a rail transport hub, which makes life very easy for anyone arriving by train. Trains run into Santa Justa station from Granada, Malaga, Madrid, and many other locations in southwest Spain - making rail transport the best way to reach Seville.

Which is the main train station in Seville?

The major station in Seville is Santa Justa. This palatial station is one of Spain's largest, and has everything travellers could need, from ATMs and left luggage, to cafes, bars, and convenience stores. More importantly, Santa Justa is a major bus transport hub. The 32 route heads into the centre of town, and take 10-15 minutes in most cases. Walking is an option, but the distance is about 3 miles, so keep that in mind.

Which train companies offer trains to Seville?

Almost all train services to Seville will be provided by Renfe - Spain's national carrier. Renfe offers a wide range of connections, including rapid links to Madrid, as well as regional centres like Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, and Cadiz.

Why travel by train to Seville?

Catching trains to Seville is usually the best way to get to the city for those who are already in Spain. Fast Renfe services run into Santa Justa from tourist cities like Granada and Cordoba, so it's easy to make Seville a stop on a sight-seeing tour. And trains provide a link to the capital, Madrid. So those flying into Barajas Airport can switch to trains with ease. Renfe's services tend to offer more room, choice, and on-board services than buses from companies like Alsa as well, making the travel experience more enjoyable.

Before you travel to Seville by train - good to know!

When getting around Seville, it's a good idea to pick up a Metro map. This light rail system runs to most parts of the city (but not Santa Justa station), and rates are very reasonable. Apart from that, the historic centre can best be seen on foot - and leave plenty of time. The Cathedral is a star turn, with its outlandish decorations, but the Moorish Giralda is a must see (and must-climb) as well. The Moorish Alcazar Palace is also a highlight, but there are more modern attractions, too. From Maria Luisa Park, to stellar tapas bars like Al Aljibe, Seville is packed with unforgettable sights, sounds, and tastes.
