Trains from Berlin to Breslau, also known as Wroclaw, are operated by Deutsches Bahn. Trains run at roughly two-hourly intervals throughout the day starting at just after 6:30 a.m. and continuing until just before 5:00 p.m. with a journey time of between 5 hours 15 minutes and just under 6 hours. On Saturdays and Sundays, the first departure in the morning is later. Trains depart from Berlin-Lichtenberg Station and terminate at Wrocław Główny Station. Most departures involve one connection which is made at either Poznan Główny, Dresden or Zielona Góra while the last train of the day involves transfers at both Cottbus and Forst.

Taking the Train from Berlin

Berlin's recently rebuilt Hauptbahnhof is centrally located within the city and easily reached using Berlin's excellent public transport system. The station is served by U-Bahn (underground) and S-Bahn (suburban) train services, as well as frequent trams and buses. Most public transport services in Berlin run 24 hours a day.

Getting into Breslau by Train

Travelling by train from Berlin to Breslau means passengers will arrive at the main station, Wroclaw Glowny. Buses and coaches serve the city and the wider region from the nearby bus station. Wroclaw Glowny is also served by Wroclaw's extensive tram system, making travelling within the city a breeze. Rental bikes are available at the station, which is part of the city-wide Wroclaw City Bike scheme. For a taste of Old Wroclaw, charming historic trams run regularly around the city. Wroclaw is largely a medieval city and has changed hands many times over the centuries. Attractions for visitors include the pretty Old Town, the extensive Wroclaw Zoo and Ostrow Tumski (Cathedral Island), the oldest part of the city.
