The 2017 edition of the best Game of Thrones filming destinations, with a 60-hour tour to boot, is available now!

Were you left wanting Westeros like a wildling wants Jon Snow? Well, good news: After a year-long wait Game of Thrones is back!

Last year’s guide to Game of Thrones filming destinations explored five of the best places around Europe for any Game of Thrones fan to visit.  Just in time for the onslaught of Season 5, let’s whisk ourselves back into the world of Westeros. Featuring some great known locations from the last 4 seasons, we’ve also highlighted season 5’s filming spots in Spain – a never before seen Citadel!

Similar to our infographic from 2014 we hope this year’s research will inspire further travel throughout Europe. Our previous release saw an increase through our booking site to the locations in which filming takes place; tickets to Dubrovnik in Croatia increased between 8-16% dependent on the travel mode. In addition tickets for flights to the island of Malta also rose by 26% whilst journeys to Belfast, the closest major city for scenes shot in Winterfell, increased by 5-11% for various travel modes.

Want to experience this new travel trend yourself? Why not take the other-worldly opportunity to visit a real-life location that can inspire the Seven Kingdoms? Get your dragons and dire wolves ready, and set out on a new Game of Thrones-inspired adventure…
